Join Clemente McKay, a Chilean artist working from his studio in Nuble, Chile, in the creation of traditional clay wind instruments and sound sculptures. Clemente will be visiting during our Anagama firing.
Clemente McKay (@clemity.ceramics) has been on a path of research with ceramics from his passion for ancient and archaeological material culture, especially its particularities in terms of sound, from the territory where he grew up and the Andean legacy that runs through it. This has led him to research various cultures and their material and sound heritage, from ceramics, with its immense formal versatility and its profound symbolic meaning and nobility. In 2021 he co-founded the Kachalote Crafts Laboratory (@tallerkachalote) where he developed the Relatos del Pachakuti collection that he exhibits in 2022 at the Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian…
