Join Josh Kehrberg as we dive into clay with a playfulness and curiosity often lost in the pursuit of craft. The sculptural vessels workshop is aimed at creating hand-built pottery with the looseness and freedom of sculpture. Basic techniques of pinch, coil and slab will be covered in depth as well as more uncommon techniques and processes like paddling, rolling, punching, table forms, and more. During the workshop, you'll have the chance to watch rolling demos and execute your own works with input, coaching, and feedback.

ABOUT JOSH

I have been making ceramics for ten years. Receiving my BFA in sculpture from OCAC in Portland OR where I learned new ways to think about and approach the artistic process. I have also worked in the ceramic industry and as a production potter in Portland. As an artist I make both functional and decorative pottery. -2 studio days with 24 hour access

-camping (car or tent)

-daily instruction 

-daily 1:1 coaching time

-25 lbs clay

-bisque firing up to 2 cubic feet

Optional: 

-tiny cabin stay

-bunkhouse stay

-fall wood firing

-return for raku day

-return for glazing

note: bisque firing is included, but glaze firing is not. You can choose to continue the process with us at East Creek, or take your bisque home to finish at your local shared studio.
