Join Joe Robinson and the Morning Ceramics crew in a day of socially-distanced raku firing!
Raku is when a bisqued pot is heated red-hot to 1,800F, pulled from the kiln and placed into combustible material. The burning fire turns glazes metalic and the smoke turns the clay black.
Come do this with your own pots, all materials except your pots are included. You'll have time to glaze pieces before-hand or the day of with glazes that will be at Morning for a week before the workshop. You can fire up to 1.5 cubic feet of bisqueware in the raku kiln, and you'll have the opportunity to pull your own pieces from the kiln (or not).
Once registered, you'll receive a link to an online scheduler to pick your time. All raku firing will take place on Tuesday October 13. Masks required for indoor portions.
