Informational Session at Morning Ceramics Studio: Thursday, Sept 14 7:00pm-8:00pm

Join Joe Robinson and Aubrey Sloan for two days of community firing in our new gas soda kiln and raku kiln at East Creek’s beautiful indoor/outdoor studio space.Â
Arrive on Saturday Oct. 21 with 1 cubic foot of work to soda fire in our cross draft gas soda kiln, and 1 cubic foot of work to raku on Sunday. Â We'll load the soda kiln on Saturday and fire Sat-Sunday evening. While the soda kiln is firing, take advantage of the East Creek 20 acre forest property, including trails, outdoor kitchen, fire pit, and prep pots for raku on Sunday. Â On Sunday, we will raku pots throughout the day. Also on Sunday we will add soda to the gas kiln, and shut it down between 6 and 8 pm. It will be an exciting and fire filled weekend!
You are welcome to attend the unloading on Friday, Oct. 27, or pick your work up from Morning Ceramics the following week.Â
There will be a 1 hr informational session at Morning Ceramics Studio on Sept. 14 where we will discuss clays to use, both the soda and raku firing process, look at examples of work from both kilns, talk about what to expect for the weekend, and answer questions from participants.
