NEW Pay What You Want: this workshop includes space in the June catenary firing. At minumum, pay for your wood firing space and the studio time is on us. If you're doing well, please consider paying our suggested amount of $195 or more to support other artists who can only pay the minimum.
Join Joe Robinson and Aubrey Sloan for two days of wheel throwing and handbuilding making at East Creek’s beautiful indoor/outdoor studio space. Joe will share 20 years of experience and East Creek’s considerable studio tool suite.
Your work will be bisque fired and to be put in the June ChickenCat Wood Soda Firing, or picked up at East Creek at a later date.
Among other demos (including requests) Joe will demo and share: 50 lb, 2-part pot, Making/Using large slabs from East Creek’s industrial slab roller, making small additions to clay bodies, and attachment of handles to wet pots. Aubrey will demo carving techniques, and kurinuki vessel making. Demos and work time will be provided, and each participant can choose whether to attend each demo or keep working. Individual coaching and critique time will be built in to both days between demos. Questions about personal work and projects will be happily answered. On Monday night, we’ll make personal wood fired pizzas.

-25 lbs of clay (additional clay avaible for purchase for $15.00 per bag, feel free to bring any clay you would like to use as well)
-2 cubic foot of bisque included
-2 cubic feet in the June ChickenCat wood soda firing

Loading/Firing: June 2-4, 2022 (Friday-Sunday)
Unloading: Friday June 9, 2022 at 11:00 am
**Add an additional day to your retreat on the ticket page. No Demos will be provided this day, but studio will be open and avaible for use and some support avaible throughout the day
