ChickenCat: Feb '22

Join us for a crew-led firing of our ChickenCat catenary arch wood-soda kiln. There will be no workshops feeding into this firing, so expect all to share equally in the work and to be mostly self directed in prep. As usual, wadding and glaze are available. Joe Robinson will be participating in the firing and will be accountable for its success, though other leaders will be invited to step forward.

Each participant should plan on attending the loading, at least one day of the firing, and the unloading. Registration will be open until the firing is full. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of signup, with 50% due upon completion of the firing. We must always slightly oversell the kiln to ensure it's filled; your final payment will reflect your actual cubic footage in the kiln. One Pot Pass holders pay in full up front and need not make a final payment; they may also forgoe typical work shifts in favor of just a "visit". All pieces must be bisque fired; some glaze and all wadding is provided. 

NOTE: Please only sign up for one slot per person! Signing up for multiple spots (ie selecting 2, 2 cubic foot tickets rather than one, 4 cubic foot ticket) takes a spot away from someone else.

Newcomers are welcome to sign up online. Some help, but no instruction, is provided. If you need lots of help, please join us for one of our wood firing workshops, which include instructions and materials. 

Covid Policy: East Creek requires COVID-19 vaccinations for all program participants over 18 years old. A vaccination exemption will be granted with a signed letter from a Medical Doctor only. We follow the recomendations of the Oregon Health Authority and mandates from the Governer's Office. Masks will be required onsite when Oregon Health Authority guidance requires it. We ask all participants to practice social distancing.
