Join Joe Robinson for two days of raku at East Creek’s beautiful indoor/outdoor studio space. Start from scratch and earn about/try your hand at various raku techniques including reduced and un-reduced raku, utilizing underglazes, horsehair, foil saggar firing in the raku kiln, and raku kiln building and setup, including propane basics.
Bring your own bisque, up to 5 cubic feet, to prepare and fire in our kilns. Your bisque can be any clay; raku dedicated clays like Georgie's Pipenburg Raku are preferred.
After completing this workshop, you'll be able to go back to your studio to build and fire your own raku kiln. Highly reccomended for teachers and others who want to get consistent raku results for themselves, their students, or their communities.
