Firing Style: TBD: We'll see what we learn this year. The firing could range from hot and glassy to a medium sized strike. In all cases, our goal will be to keep functional glazes functional.

Join us as a steward of 10 cubic feet in the East Creek Anagama. The total cost is $350 for 10 cubic feet, 50% non-refundable deposit and 50% payable upon firing completion.

In our response to COVID-19, we're preparing for severe restrictions on gatherings during the 2020-21 firing season. To that end, our stewardship program is designed to make it possible to draw the labor pool down to 12 people who each spend more time at the firing. 

As a stweard, you're responsible for 10 cubic feet in the anagama. You may choose to share the space in the kiln with one or more people, but it's you who is personally responsible for ensuring the pots arrive at the kiln, are loaded according to wishes, and inputting the labor necessary to complete our firing. If COVID restrictions don't require us to reduce/eliminate gatherings, everyone who has work in the kiln will be invited to attend. But if COVID restrictions are in place, we must be prepared to do the labor of firing the kiln with a smaller group. We did this in the Spring of 2020 and it was certainly more work, but it was managable. 

Specifically, stewards should be prepared to:

-ensure all pots arrive at the kiln and are ready to load by 9:30am on Saturday, April 24 

-participate in at least one full day of the loading

-complete three, 8 hour shifts on the kiln (scheduling at loading)

-participate in the unloading and cleanup process until at least 4:00p on Saturday, May 15

Again, if COVID restrictions are eased, this work can be split up between several people who may be sharing the 10 cubic foot allocation in the kiln.
